Frequently asked questions
- Why can't I save Bluesky videos directly in the iPhone Photos app?
- Some Bluesky videos use streaming formats that iOS cannot store natively. BlueVideoSaver converts the stream into an MP4 file that the Photos and Files apps can save.
- Where do downloaded Bluesky videos go on iPhone?
- Safari saves the MP4 to the Files app by default. You can move it to Photos after the download if you want it in your Camera Roll.
- Does this method work on all iOS versions?
- Yes. The steps work on current iOS versions, including iOS 17 and later, because everything runs in Safari without extra installs.
- Can I add the downloader as a Home Screen shortcut?
- Yes. Use the Safari Share sheet, tap "Add to Home Screen," and BlueVideoSaver will open like an app for faster downloads.
Use BlueVideoSaver to download any public Bluesky video or GIF as an MP4 file.
